ABOUT PAULA M. TOLEDO
Paula M. Toledo is the founder of SocialWell Collective. She is a well-being consultant, speaker, writer, and published singer-songwriter. She is a TEDx and WE Day speaker and was featured at Collision Conference with Roblox where she shared her experiences on the ‘Power of Play’. As a former contributing correspondent for Global TV Montreal and CBC Parents, Paula works with members of the media to raise awareness for practices that help people and organizations to flourish.
Paula graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and has extensive experience in the area of brand marketing, communications, and strategy. After working in this capacity with Fortune 500 companies and lifestyle brands, she became a Canadian Mental Health Advisor for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace to help organizations re-orient their attention towards their most important resource: people.
During the pandemic, Paula moved her family from Montreal to Vancouver to be close to nature and her lifelong friends. She earned a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the Ivy League school, University of Pennsylvania, and studied virtually under the academic advisorship of James Pawelski a leading researcher and teacher in positive humanities and Martin Seligman, the co-founder of positive psychology.
Paula’s focus as an artist, nature-lover, and business woman is to combine her expertise and expand the international social prescribing community with supported evidence surrounding the science of well-being.
Paula is a recipient of a Vancouver Foundation, Kitsilano Small Neighourhood Grant where she volunteers her time by educating people on the positive effects of awe and wonder. Through the Wonder Gatherings that she designed and curated, she works closely with schools, workplaces, and organizations to enhance social engagement, connection, and belonging.
Honoured to have been awarded a grant from her alumni Master of Applied Positive Psychology (UPenn) community, she is realizing her vision to build the SocialWell Collective through their gracious support.
